It is achievement upon achievement for Simidele Adeagbo who just became First Woman Skeleton Athlete to quality For Winter Olympics.
The young lady has been making waves since last year when she was one race away from qualifying for the 2018 Winter Olympics. And on the 12th of January 2018, she got her ticket to be a part of the event in Pyeongchang, South Korea after completing her fifth qualifying race in Lake Placid, New York.
Her entry into the Winter Olympics means Nigeria will be represented in two games at the event which includes bobsled in which our team of three amazing women will be making their own history.

While Adeagbo was making global history in New York, she also achieved a personal best and had the fastest push start of the day – finishing the race in third place.

1. She was consistently nationally ranked and was a two-time U.S. Olympic Trials finalists in the triple jump.

4. Simidele has also led a successful and notable career at Nike Inc., where she is currently a Marketing Manager in Johannesburg, South Africa.
5. She wants to change the conversation and the narrative on African women and believe it’s time for the world to see strong, smart, vivacious, courageous, beautiful and ambitious African women unapologetically blazing a trail in sports.
6. While competing at the University of Kentucky, she was a four time All-American and school record holder in the triple jump.
7. Her professional obligations require 40-50 hour work weeks and occasional business travel.
