DPR Seals Filling Stations In Ibadan


Petroleum Stations who sell the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) above official Pump price of #145 per litre in Ibadan metropolis, Oyo State have been sealed by the officials of the Department Petroleum Resources.
The exercise was conducted on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, under the watch of the State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr Toye Arulogun, his counterparts from Ministry of Justice and State Attorney-General, Barrister Seun Abimbola, as well as Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Relations, Alhaji Abideen Siyanbade.
According to DPR official, the essence of the exercise was to ensure full compliance of official pump price of #145 naira per litre across the State.
In their separate remarks, the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr Toye Arulogun and Senior Adviser to Governor on Community Relations, Alhaji Abideen Siyanbade said exercise was targeted at some Filling Stations who hoards the fuel.
They said the hardship caused through the fuel hoarding by some petroleum marketers is not acceptable to the State Government, hence, the need for the monitoring exercise.
Some people who spoke with BCOS lauded the State Government and Department of Petroleum Resources for the bold steps taking at reducing the hardship confronting the people through fuel scarcity.
